I've heard about Holistic Dynamic - what is it?
It's an evolving collection of supportive people and resources, mainly for personal/spiritual development and wellness. Join us online or in person to gather, muse, heal, grow, and learn. The community is diverse, open-minded, and curious about new concepts and solutions. To connect: subscribe, connect online, or attend a local event. Holistic Dynamic was founded in 2008 by Ginger Rose Marcus as a home-based life coaching practice, and since then products and many other services have been added. We operated from a brick & mortar studio in Upper Marlboro, MD from 2012 to 2015. Today, we offer mobile and online services, curated referrals, and products via Holistic Dynamic, Eclectic Dynamic, Relax With Sound, and Freehand Copy. Ginger is also a natural matchmaker, connecting a network of professionals and community members to strengthen our collective efforts. |

Where should I start?

How much do your services cost?
Why aren't you running wine and wellness events, like everyone else?
You can enjoy a drink elsewhere at your leisure; but we have grown weary of bearing witness to the destructive effects of alcohol on our cohorts, so we generally do not endorse booze-based programs. Ritual context is another matter, but we're still waiting to see it happen in real life. |
Are you Christian, New Age, Atheist, Pagan, Hindu...?
None/All of the above, and more. Most everyone who attends our functions has a good heart and a naturally moral outlook. Most of us are no longer seeking religious support, but we are always listening for opportunities to deepen our understanding. What if your community is not a good fit for me?
We usually create a fun, safe, and welcoming space for our guests, but our approach isn't meant for everyone. Part of our service to the community is to offer referrals that fit your personality and goals, so please don't hesitate to ask. |
Why are there such mixed results with holistic approaches? Is it all a scam?
Consumers should always use discernment and look closely at expectations and results. Anywhere a dollar can be made there is potential for a scam; and a certificate, degree, or license doesn't make a method valid, or a provider ethical or good at what they do. We feel that regulation does not usually serve the common good (even though it's supposed to); so we prefer instead to help each other cultivate the acute self-awareness and discernment needed to take charge of our own lives, which naturally drives scammers out of business.
To us, the term holistic refers to an inclusive system where we take all known parts of your situation into account, and get you working with different providers for a well-rounded effect. Getting well requires positive human interaction., so we also like to connect you with folks who are improving their own lifestyle choices so you can support each other in a social context and have more fun reaching goals.
Rather than suppressing symptoms, alternative and supportive approaches, like the ones we recommend, encourage self-discovery and lifestyle adjustments as a foundation for healing and personal growth. Share your short and long term goals with providers so you can set realistic expectations and develop a smart course of action, together. Keep in mind that according to medical science what we do cannot prevent, treat, or cure disease, so you should keep working with your medical doctor(s) as well.

Hiring & Retaining Practitioners
- Choose a service (optional). Research services and reported benefits to get a feel for what might be a good fit, and talk to experienced friends and professionals. If you want some starting points, we can refer based on our own knowledge, experience, and training - Book a Free Consultation.
- Interview several providers. Get them to talk about themselves and learn more about the person you'd be working with. Remember progress happens when you feel relaxed and safe, so choose someone you're comfortable with. You might run a Google research on their name and the types of methods they use.
- Let them interview you, and clarify your goals. Providers should be a bit choosy about who they take on as clients, as you might be about who you accept in your personal space. Prepare to offer a basic history and some other information; and get clear on why you're seeking assistance – what do your hope to get out of the work? What are your assumptions and expectations?
- Listen to your instincts. Do you feel safe? Is there a doubt or question you just can't shake? You should be free to stop a session if you ever feel unsure; and never remove clothing or consent to something that feels wrong. No matter how attractive the sales pitch, going against your instincts can result in deep regret... So if your gut tells you something's off, it's ok to walk away.
- Go slowly at first. Before you make a big commitment, ask for a short demonstration or trial period (even when it's not advertised).
- Communicate. Be firm and open (not shy). Ask the provider whether it's ok to talk about what you're feeling or experiencing during your session time, or if you should wait until afterwards. When you're seeing several different providers, empower them to communicate with one another as your advocates – this avoids confusion and helps you reach goals faster.
- Trust. Once you've established a baseline, you can relax into the process and go more deeply into the work.
- Stick with it. When you've found someone you can trust and things are looking up, stick with the program for best outcomes. Healing & personal growth can be a long ride, but when it's working, the overall results feel great.
Deeper Perspectives on Personal Development & Self-Healing
- Real change comes from within, and everyone has the power to do it. Facilitation with a qualified practitioner with whom you connect can help you achieve your goals more easily, quickly, and with clearer focus. Our job is not to "fix" you. We help you get in touch with your natural ability to heal and change, provide boosts in the form of energy or insight, and help you develop good self care habits. We all have many opportunities to release unhealthy patterns that contribute to stress, general unhappiness, and chronic and degenerative issues - we help you make the most of your inherent gifts and resources.
- Symptom relief sometimes comes quickly, but it does not always mean you're "healed" or done with the work. What are your goals, and have you reached them with some degree of consistency? Real transformative work can take time, and is accompanied by lifestyle adjustments, increased self-awareness, and acknowledgment of the effects of our choices. Participate in your own evolution, and get educated to see the best outcomes.
- Remember that when we ask questions about your life, we're not trying to be nosey! Openly and truthfully sharing your background and current ups and downs will bring better results. On the other hand, telling us only what you think we want to hear, or withholding information relevant to our work is a good way to sabotage success.
- While we do take your conditions and concerns seriously, we also recognize the benefits of laughter and lightheartedness in the healing process. The faster we come to terms with what's really happening, the faster we can take action to shift into a new pattern; so if we can see things in a less "heavy" light, it helps to release some of the worry and stress surrounding a condition or situation, and increases hope and inner movement.
